August Bank Holiday Weekend

The August Bank Holiday long weekend will be upon us very soon, and let’s hope the weather will hold. We have been enjoying balmy weather in the Lakes over the past weeks even though it has rained occasionally. It has, however, been mostly dry and what rainfall there has been has not adversely affected day or night-time termperatures.

August Bank Holiday weekend marks the end of high summer and heralds the beginning of late summer and the coming autumn. It is a lovely time of year in Bowness-on-Windermere, with enough sunshine still to enjoy long days and sunset sails, the latter of which tend to end with stargazing as the ferries or yacht pull into the pier for the night. Over the past years, we have arranged lunch, dinner and sunset sails for guests staying with us at Blenheim Lodge, and all have enjoyed their jaunts on the Lake.

We have late availability rooms this summer, including the August bank holiday weekend; so if you fancy a getaway for some peaceful relaxation, do consider staying at our guest house in Bowness. We have comfortable rooms with lake or woodland views and private or en-suite facilities, and all our guests have free membership of a private country club a 5-minute walk from our B&B. If you are driving, we have a private on-site car park for guests to use.

An amazing view of Lake Windermere from most of our rooms at Blenheim Lodge. Do come and visit with us for a quiet, relaxing break.

Blenheim Lodge has a variety of room types, with rooms for single, double, twin or triple occupancy. All our rooms overlook the Lake except one which has a view of the woodlands. All of them have shower en-suites except one which as a private bathroom with a slipper bath and handheld shower. More importantly, all our beds have comfortable mattresses for a good night’s sleep!

We have retained our 2011 bank holiday rates in 2012. Room tariffs including breakfast start at £53 per person per night for the August Bank Holiday long weekend and Bank Holiday itself (24th-27th August 2012). During the rest of the summer holidays, our room rates start at £44 per person per night for bed and breakfast.

Guests may book online. However, we do have some special offers for bed and breakfast stays at present which are only available for direct bookings with us by telephone or email. (Please see our details below.) Some notable deals include money off for 3 to 7 night breaks, which do not apply during public holiday weekends, but which can be offered on a pro rata basis if a longer stay overlaps these special long weekends. For example, if you were to stay 7 nights to include the August Bank Holiday long weekend, we would charge the usual rates for the former, but give a pro rata discounted rate for the other 3 nights based on our highly reduced weekly tariffs.

So, if you are considering a holiday in the Lakes, do click on the link below and check out our friendly B&B in Bowness-on-Windermere. We would be very happy to welcome you to our guest house. I am sure you will find us a warm and friendly place to stay, where you can relax in homely comfort.

Enjoy a seat by the window with a tea tray.

What our Bed and Breakfast encapsulates: take time for yourself, and enjoy views of Lake Windermere through our huge triple floor to ceiling bay windows in our lounge whilst having a welcome sup of tea and biscuits.
