The August Bank Holiday weekend is coming up soon, starting on Friday, 24th August, with the bank holiday on Monday, 27th August. I always think of the August Bank Holiday weekend as the last long weekend before one leaves Summer fun behind for another year. For pupils and students, of which Hubby and I have two of the latter, it will be nose to the grindstone from 28th August or very soon thereafter.
2012 has been a year of new things for us. This year saw us embarking on online booking for the first time. It has also seen us engaging in social media for the first time, such as Word Press, Facebook and Twitter. Thus this year is the first time that we have been able to tell people about our late availability over August Bank Holiday through social media and online booking.
At present, we have a four-poster room with Lake views available for the long weekend. We also have a couple of single rooms available as well as a room that can be used flexibly for twin, double or triple occupancy. The rooms have views of the Lake or of the countryside. All have shower en-suites.
Rooms are Blenheim Lodge are unique in character and style and thus no two are alike. Our prices vary over the public holiday weekend from £53-£75 per person per night for bed and breakfast, although a third person sleeping in our triple room will pay only £40 per night for bed and breakfast. Our prices reflect the sizes of the rooms and the views from them. Otherwise, in all other essentials, they are alike: with hospitality trays; private facilities; flat screen televisions; high thread count bath sheets and hand towels; and quality And So To Bed pocket sprung mattresses and Dorma bedding. Guests also have free membership of the Parklands Country Club five minutes walk from our door, the use of our private on-site car park, a lovely guest lounge with lake views, and the offer of two free fishing permits on a first come fist served basis.
This August Bank Holiday weekend, why not take advantage of the last of the Summer sun and take a break in the English Lake District? Bowness-on-Windermere is a lively place with lots to do and easy access to other parts of the Lake District by boat or bus. Blenheim Lodge, our guest house, is only a 5-minute walk to the centre of Bowness town and the Lake, and a minute’s stroll to the Dales Way Walk. We are quietly nestled into tranquil woodlands for a nice relaxing break, away from the noise and busyness of traffic and crowds, including late night revellers.
Come and visit us. You will find us a welcoming and friendly place to stay. Many of our guests think of our place as their ‘home from home’ and we hope that you will find us your ‘home from home’ too!
‘Blenheim Lodge . . . panoramic Lake views, peace and tranquillity, nestled against acres of beautiful fields and woodlands, in the heart of the English Lake District National Park.’
