Glorious weather for February

We have enjoyed mostly fabulous weather this month. Sure, we had some snow, which many English people seem to dislike from what I gather of the conversations I have had with them, and we have had some rain. However, February in the Lake District has fulfilled my expectations as always: glorious bright skies and still days.

The blue blue waters of Lake Windermere and its surrounding mountains as seen from most of our bedrooms at Blenheim Lodge. Come and enjoy this view with us!

We noticed yesterday that one of our neighbours had a Saab convertible for sale. Hubby and I like Saabs very much. We think they are safe, mostly dependable and generally well-made, and particularly so of the cars made in the Nordic countries. A Saab is not a practical car for us at this time of our lives. However, one can dream; and Hubby was dreaming of an open-topped car whizzing along country lanes under today’s gorgeous sky.

Despite the good weather, I have, unfortunately, been ensconced within the house trying hard to upload our information onto the new free booking platform we want to try. If only I had decided to explore this platform before putting up photos for the Laterooms one, I could have saved myself at least a week’s work. The current booking facility will override all other material set up on linked booking sites, so that is why I now have to complete inputting data on this new site.

Well, although I could not get out today, Hubby did manage to spend some time under our old car, trying to fix a broken exhaust. It is an old vehicle that we have and there was a hole in the exhaust. Unfortunately, Hubby could not quite get underneath the whole underside of the vehicle, so he had to take it to the garage we have used for the last 10 years. We had expected to be charged a fortune, but the mechanic did it free of charge. Hurray!

Anyway, despite the fact that I have not been anywhere today, I can still share some photos with you of how lovely a sunlit Lake District can look. I hope that you will be inspired to visit the Lakes for their peace and beauty. And, if you do, please do come and stay with us at Blenheim Lodge. We have lots of late availability for March, Easter, and Spring.
