Easter holidays

Easter is early this year, with Good Friday on 29th March and Easter Monday on 1st April. Surrounding this period, of course, are the Easter school holidays. I am not sure about other countries, but in the UK, there is always a Spring break during this period in the local schools.

The Attic, a bedroom at Blenheim Lodge guest house, with Louis XV bed.

The Attic is on the second floor of our guest house and guests staying in this characterful room will enjoy panoramic views of Lake Windermere from the Velux window.

Blenheim Lodge is open for the Easter period, just as we have done over the past 10.5 years. Most of the guests that visit us tend to be adults, rather than very young children as we do not have rooms that sleep four people. Having said that, we do get families that will take rooms adjacent to each other, or even occupy a whole wing of our guest house. Many places to stay in the Bowness and Windermere areas are purely for adults and do not take children. However, Hubby and I always travelled with our kids and we do not see any reason to exclude well-behaved children.

Tomorrow, we are putting up some really great offers for the Easter holidays coming up. Prices will start at up to 25% discount below our regular rates. This means that a double en-suite room with Lake views will set a couple back no more than £79.50 per night for starters. We are also offering 10% discounts on 3-night minimum midweek breaks. Meanwhile, our bed and breakfast tariffs for the long Easter weekend itself have not increased from our 2009 prices, starting at just £53 per person per night.

Plan a last minute break. Stay in The Langdale and enjoy your beauty sleep in this magnificent antique four-poster bed.

On another topic altogether, do you remember I wrote a post on Crufts (https://bownessbedandbreakfast.wordpress.com/2013/03/08/crufts) Well, I watched the final show on Sunday, and guess what? The dog and owner I most liked, Haatchi and Owen, won the Friends for Life trophy. I have to admit that watching Crufts has made me feel very inadequate with regard to my own dogs’ beauty regimes. Basically, it boils down to the fact that my dogs always look untidy, unlike the tidy locks of those show dogs. I can comb mine all I like, (which, guiltily, I do not do as often as I should), but I must be doing something wrong because they always look like ragamuffins!

Back to topic. Well, I hope that our special offers will encourage people to book a stay with us at Blenheim Lodge, from which there is excellent and easy access to local and other Lake District attractions and activities. Oh yes! The scenery is not half bad too – (says she, tongue in cheek)!
