This April weekend coming up just about marks the end of the first third of 2013. Until recently, it has been bright but cold, but now, it is bright and warm – the first signs of a beautiful Spring . . . I hope! At Blenheim Lodge, we are continuing to run our Special Offers for weekend breaks, including discounted deals for this weekend coming up. Prices start from a mere £45 per person per night for Bed and Breakfast in an en-suite room with views of the Lake and fells.
So what else is in store for our family this weekend? Well, our two sons are busy completing college and university assignments – at least I hope they are occupied thusly, and not skiving – which are due for presentation in the coming week. One son also has exams to worry about, and has been attending extra maths and electronics revision classes at university. The other has a project to present, which does not seem to be going very well, from what I have gathered. So what does a mother do when her boys are facing challenges? Why, she prays for them. And adds a good dollop of son-nagging too!
Aside from the above, I hope that by this weekend coming up I will have completed uploading information about our guest house onto some websites that we want to advertise on. I have been working on these websites off and on for the last few weeks and have encountered numerous hiccups. One of them is throwing up log-in problems; another is not letting me upload photos; yet another does not want to pinpoint our location accurately. It is all very frustrating and time-consuming as I try my best to resolve these issues with the staff that man these websites. Worse, the staff often do not do what they say they will do, so I am left in the lurch.
Another thing I want to do at the end of this week is to spend some time combing our dogs. No one combs them except for me, and they really do look like ragamuffins at present. Maddi, in particular, looks scruffy. The problem with her very fine hair is that it always looks messy even right after I have brushed her coat. I wish we could afford to take them to a dog groomer as the action of combing causes my shoulder to ache abominably.
Well, I hope that we will have nice sunshine this weekend so that visitors to the Lake District can see it in all its Springtime glory. At Blenheim Lodge, we still have last minute accommodation for single, double, twin and triple occupancy, so do get in touch if you are visiting the Lakes and need a place to stay. You can book online using the internet booking links on this blog or those on our website. Otherwise, why not do it the good old-fashioned way and phone us to book instead? Our rooms are also available to book via email.
