It’s been a bright still day today. We have had no wind, and the temperatures have been delightfully comfortable. Visibility has been excellent with minimal cloud cover. All in all, it has been a beautiful autumn day.
Autumn is still in its infancy – okay, maybe in its toddler stage instead – as there is still lots of green foliage about. Looking out of the lounge and dining room bay windows, I could not resist taking a few photos, an amateurish attempt to capture those bright spots of colour and far-reaching scenes to the horizon.
Look at the view I am enjoying from our lounge window. You can see some changing colours in the foliage and some bare branches signalling autumn time.
Here are some of the pretty flowers which have survived recent and not so recent autumn winds and rain. They add a bright spark of colour sitting in the window boxes outside our lounge.
I took a photo of the view from our dining room today. Mostly clear skies lent excellent visibility so that one can see some Lakeland fells well into the distance.
I wonder how long this almost balmy autumn weather will hold. I can hear various birds chirping cheerfully outside, breaking the calm silence that surrounds our house. How blissful is the sound of silence after a busy day!
At Blenheim Lodge, we are hopefully going to be busy this coming week because it is the schools half-term holiday week. Although we do not have family rooms, by which I mean rooms that sleep four or more persons, we hope that our guest house will still attract custom from adults or families with older children who are looking for a quiet relaxing break. For visitors who are looking for last minute Lake District accommodation, why not take advantage of our special offers and come stay with us?
