We have enjoyed almost uninterrupted phenomenal weather this week in the Lake District, which has led me to think about what there is to do this weekend. Outdoor activities are a great way to explore the wonderful Lake District National Park, and range from those for the ultra fit to the more gentle for guests who prefer a more sedentary lifestyle. So here are just three things to do this weekend which will hopefully get visitors out and about enjoying this fabulous region.
Cartmel Food Market
Cartmel, home to L’enclume, Simon Rogan’s Michelin restaurant in Cumbria, plays host to a food market this Friday, 17th April 2015. The venue is Unsworth’s Yard, next to the famous Cartmel Priory, in this picturesque village, which is only 20 minutes’ drive from Blenheim Lodge, our Bed and Breakfast. Caves, Falls and Fells Walk
As usual, the Lake District National Park has lined up a year full of activities to help visitors explore and discover the joys of this beautiful landscape. Why not join a free guided walk by Coniston on Saturday, 18th April, 2015?
. . . guided walk from Tilberthwaite Quarry car park near Coniston, in which walkers follow old quarry roads to Little Langdale, visit Cathedral Cave and then walk to Colwith Falls before returning over High Oxen Fell and Hodge Close. No booking required. This is a free Lake District National Park Authority event of 6.2 miles (10km) and 5 hours duration approximately.

Navigation Skills for Beginners
Now here is an activity for the intrepid and curious! This event begins at 10 am on 18th April, 2015.
Navigation skills for beginners is an opportunity to learn basic navigation skills in small, friendly groups on the Grasmere fells with map and compass provided.
