Spot the dog!

We went walking up Queen Adelaide’s Hill yesterday. It’s a small fell only 5 minutes from our Bowness guest house, Blenheim Lodge. The hillside was full of sheep, so we kept strictly to the footpath.

Up and up we went.

Part of the path up Queen Adelaide's Hill had stone steps cut into it. I don't know if this made it easier, but that's all part of the fun!

When we reached the top, we could see a number of far-off fells and parts of Lake Windermere. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a good photo of the view . . . and, actually, I think that the views from our house are much better. We were really quite high up, in fact, we could see the topmost tip of Blenheim Lodge from the top of the fell!

On the way back, we decided to take a route through the Rayrigg Meadow and Millerground fields. These were full of sheep too! Hence the title of this post: ‘Spot the dog!’ (He is the colour of many of the local sheep.)

Spot the dog! Actually, this is quite simply: the dog is the one holding the human back!
