Macbook case and screen shield

A few weeks back, I wrote about wanting to purchase some protection for my tech items. Well, all my items have finally arrived. Hurray! I received a Macbook Air hard case and a screen shield for the same. The items were expensive; but then I thought that since my parents-in-law had kindly purchased the Macbook for me, then I could splurge a little on the case and screen shield in order to protect my new toy. I have to say that I am pleased with myself – not only because I had finally purchased these and the other two items for my iPhone (see my previous post), but also because I have finally come to the end of my hunt for cases and screen shields for my gadgets. I actually found it quite stressful looking for them, and had spent hours researching covers and shields. It’s all done now. What a relief!

Next step! Actually using my new Macbook Air! At present, I am still using my old Air, which will pass on to my husband once I have gotten my new Air sorted out. First, I need to upload Word onto the Macbook. My problem is that the Word documents on my current Macbook are based on the 2008 version of software. It was software which had been installed in my Macbook prior to my taking delivery. I am NOT a technologically savvy person by any stretch of the imagination; and I am unsure as to how I am going to upload the more current version and how the new version might work with my current documents which had been written on the 2008 version. An Apple tech support personnel said he could not help because it was not their own software, despite the fact that I had bought the new software from Apple itself.

Secondly, I do not know how to transfer the files from my current Macbook to the new one. Most people seem to know how to do something like this instinctively. Not me! What I am purposing to do come Monday though is to set aside some time during the week in order to get my computer sorted out. And then I will actually be able to use my new computer after having had it sitting its box for the last 2 months!

The good thing is that I have now been using my new phone instead of relying on my older one. Of course, it still took more than a month before I began using my new phone because I wanted to get the screen protector and case first, as I wrote about in a previous post. Still, I am glad that I waited to use it: at least I will not be as fearful of dropping it with its new case and screen on as I would have been without them.

The new phone has been wonderful to use so far, although I am not sure about its battery situation. It seems to consume a lot of battery life. Other than that, I like the fact that I have more memory space to take photos and videos and I think that the photos do look clearer than my previous iPhone 5 S. Having said that, I am not sure that I like the ‘live’ photos that Apple had been touting on the iPhone SE. I found them irritating and pointless, and did not like the fact that they took up more space on my phone. I have now learnt how to turn off this feature. My feeling is that if I want to take a video, I will do so off my own bat. I don’t need the phone to do it for me simply for a gimmick!

Beautiful Common Wood is accessed just off the main A591 at Windermere.

I have included a couple of the photos I took on my new phone here in this post. But do take a look at more of our photos and also videos which I took on my iPhone SE on both our Facebook Page and Instagram Profile. I have some videos of walking through lovely woodlands filled with banks and banks of pretty bluebells; Lake Windermere on a windy day’s walk; cute lambs with waggling tails as they suckle their dams; and a number more! My subjects were so beautiful, so lovely; and so sweet! Enjoy!
