A fabulous February day

I have maintained over the past decade or more that Bowness in the Lake District National Park offers some of its most wonderful weather in February for at least three out of its four weeks. Et voila! Today is one of those days.

And what a wonderful viewpoint to see it from if only Hubby would look up from his computer! He likes sitting in The Langdale 4-Poster room when no one is around.

What an amazing view of Lake Windermere and the Claife Heights mountains is to be admired from The Langdale room at our B&B, Blenheim Lodge, if only Hubby would lift hid head up from the computer!

The tranquillity of Lakeland’s fells can also be experienced from The Dalesway, our fellside-facing bedroom.

The hedge and fence at the front of the photo are ours as these National Trust acres border our backyard.

The skies have remained bright from morning till now at mid-afternoon as I write this post. There is not a whisper of breeze and Lake Windermere looks still and calm. I doubt we will experience any change in the weather today, although one cannot be absolutely certain.

The stillness of the water on Windermere is clearly reflected in this photograph which Hubby took from one of our lake-facing rooms. To the far right is a yacht perhaps driven more by engine than by sail!

  1. What a gorgeous Lodge and surrounding landscape! I very much hope to visit such beauty one day…

You would be very welcome indeed! Actually, I used to live in Canada and always wanted to visit the Northwest Territories and areas like that, including Alaska, but never got the chance. Nowadays I content myself with watching TV documentaries about these wonderful landscapes instead. Perhaps one day I will get the opportunity to visit!
